Casara Andre, DVM, cVMA
Founder, Scheduled Relief
As the founder of Scheduled Relief, Dr. Andre has brought together her experience as both a relief veterinarian as well as a clinic manager.
Scheduled Relief was created to serve both sides of the veterinary relief industry - by providing veterinary relief practitioners with a place of community, shared growth and support, while also assisting clinics in connecting with professional and proficient relief providers.

The military was her first introduction to two life-directing concepts:

Her passion for building the veterinary community extends to supporting veterinary medicine in developing countries as well as at home.
Dr. Andre's volunteer work has taken her from Costa Rica, Nicaragua, to the Dominican Republic and Portugal, as well as throughout the United States and at home in Colorado. Her favorite aspect of working in developing communities is witnessing the strength of the human-animal bond across cultural, language, political and geographic boundaries.
Well-being for animals and people alike starts with education and access to compassionate care. |
Working dogs present a unique challenge to the veterinary practitioner with the need to provide exceptional care without interrupting that dog's ability to accomplish it's "mission".
She loves providing holistic veterinary care to working and sporting dogs as much as she enjoys providing first aid, husbandry, behavior and injury-prevention training to their handlers.

Her latest working dog adventure was providing veterinary support to the 2015 Iditarod as a trail veterinarian. From -50F nights and the breathtaking northern lights to working with the amazing dogs and their stalwart mushers - it was an opportunity to participate in another example of a veterinary community providing exceptional care to some exceptional canine athletes.

Dr. Andre's recent professional endeavors have focused on bringing the medicinal effects of cannabis safely into the veterinary industry. From working with human physicians that are incorporating cannabis into their patient care, to offering cannabis consultations to pet owners, Dr. Andre believes that the therapeutic effects of cannabis are worth researching and can be safely integrated into veterinary patient care.
